Inspired by Bauhaus functional design, northern minimalism and Japanese crafts heritage culture, inevitably embraced by Mediterranean warmth and hospitality.

Bastida for Work was launched with the aim of offering an alternative based on functionality, comfort, and durability: a timeless collection of garments designed following the guidelines of good design.

The studio is based in the outskirts of Barcelona, in Terrassa. The city is known for its textile history during the industrial revolution. Palpable in its architecture, with the presence of chimneys and open industrial units like our studio. This heritage allows us to support and work hand in hand with local suppliers and seamstresses.

Marta and Nagore met working together in the fashion industry. Wearing their basic range of clothes for daily working needs, it became clear it was unnecessary to turn these fast fashion garments into a kind of work uniform. After some thought they created a timeless and functional workwear line.

MARTA M. SOLDEVILLA

Co-Founder and Creative Director with background in international luxury fashion design and the performing arts. She draws on this experience to work in an interdisciplinary and connected manner and create highly realized projects and experiences.

Her longstanding passion for design and gastronomy have enabled her to develop new ways of generating and communicating experiences via textile and fashion design, allowing her to forge a new pathway in the sector.

NAGORE VITALLÉ

Co-Founder of Bastida with a background in Fine Art and a specialization in Fashion Design from Central Saint Martins and The Circular Project.

Throughout her career, Nagore has explored the relationship between garments and the human experience from a social perspective, with the aim of redefining the role of fashion in contemporary life. Her work focuses on driving sustainability in the textile industry by rethinking how garments are produced, valued, and connected to the people who wear them.

She has realized this vision by participating in various cultural projects and by co-founding Bastida, a space for innovation, design beyond trends and long-term impact.
